About The Event

We’re happy to announce that UUNB is a Great Reads MA 2025 participating partner! This year’s featured book is Stamped from the Beginning: A Graphic History of Racist Ideas in America by Ibram X. Kendi, adapted and illustrated by Joel Christian Gill.

Each year, Massachusetts selects a title to share with the commonwealth as part of the “Great Reads from Great Places” program. To share the title more broadly, we offer Book Boxes to select Massachusetts organizations. This spring, Jessica applied for the grant, and we were approved to bring Stamped from the Beginning: A Graphic History of Racist Ideas in America into our community.

Join us on August 21 (part one discussion) & August 28 (part two discussion) via Zoom for a discussion series on the stunningly illustrated graphic-novel Stamped from the Beginning: A Graphic History of Racist Ideas in America by Ibram X. Kendi, adapted and illustrated by Joel Christian Gill.
