About The Event
Join us in celebration of the official grand opening of our Little Free Diverse Library. In August 2024, UU New Bedford received an Impact Library grant from Little Free Library in collaboration with Thrift Books to start our own Little Free Library outside of the office on 8th Street.
Little Free Library's mission is Building community. Inspiring readers. Expanding book access.
Through the Impact Library Program Grant, LFL provides no-cost Little Free Library book exchanges to communities where books are scarce. LFL has granted more than 3,000 libraries through this program.
93% of Impact Library recipients agree that their granted little library is providing access to books to people who have little to no access to books elsewhere. Our Little Free Library is the first in Downtown New Bedford!
Recipients of Impact Libraries are asked to:
Maintain the library and fill it with books for at least one year.
